Has anyone else noticed this? Seems like it crept up on me, but every Wal-mart I've been to in the past few years no longer has a friendly old greeter... usually a semi-retired senior who they give a sense of purpose and reason to leave the house. They actually handed out smiley stickers to kids even. Now, it's usually teenagers or some middle aged ghetto person sitting on a stool that MUST assume you are stealing goods and then check your receipt on exit. It's really fucking annoying, because I often fold and put the receipt in my pocket with others out of habit. I get stopped and have to play pocket pool in front of a line until I find the right receipt. There's no greeting at all when I enter, except for the exit guy trying (and failing) to put a mask on me these days. Is this happening in your area? If so, why???
