What genre? What mood? What is the song going to be about?
Well the musician will set the mood, then hopefully i can translate the mood to make it work. But im more country, rock, alternative...anything to far from that...

I'm a famous musician. I will write every other lyric line, if you prompt me.
I've got a couple of killer lyrics that I'd love to help a musician put music to. I have a general idea of the melody lines, but I can't chord music. It's too bad I don't know any musicians. One of the songs is a sure-fire top of the charts hit. I'm not kidding, with the right singer it would go to the top. But what am I to do with it, with no musical training and no contacts in the music industry?
Step one: be a jew
I write songs all the time. I love writing the music but the lyrics writing annoys me unless I have an idea that excites me. I'm not the greatest singer but I could set it to music for you. Did you have a certain sound in your imagination for it?
Yes, I've got rough melodies for both songs. I even set one of them to basic chords on a guitar, but I didn't know what I was doing. I'm sure it could be greatly improved by someone who had some musical talent. I studied guitar, piano and musical theory for a year or so, and one thing I learned -- I have no musical talent, even though I love music. I can't play an instrument for shit. I mean, I could play from a sheet of music, but I couldn't just play, if you know what I mean. It was all mechanical. And everything I learned about setting music down on paper went out of my head almost as soon as I quit music classes.
So the first song is an old-fashioned song of the kind they used to write in the 1930s. To me it sounds like Noel Coward. In fact, I'm convinced I was channeling Noel Coward when I wrote it. The lyric is exquisite. Perfect. But I don't suppose there is much demand for such an old-fashioned style.
The second song, which I'm certain could be a chart-topping hit, is a country song. It's a bit of a novelty song, but nothing too crazy or silly. I can hear the banjos when I sing the lyric to myself. All I need is for some nationally famous country singer to decide he or she wants a sure-fire hit, and it's golden. It would take some balls for a singer to sing it, though, because it's a country song that comes across as a bit mocking of country values. But it's catchy as hell.
Anyway, I'm not about to give any personal information out here, so it's a moot point. No one could get in touch with me. But I know both songs are good songs, and the country song is a quirky country sure-fire hit.
I could try to set them to music if you pike
I'm more of a lyricist as well, I haven't taken enough time to practice guitar/making music
It's far easier to fit the melody to existing lyrics.
Often the rest of the music has little to do with the melody. If you listen to Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones this is a good example. The iconic riff comes mostly in between the verses at the beginning, then it just feels like it's being played over them.
Everyone has a different technique. An experienced singer will be able to fit the lyrics with the music.
If you look at a song like Megadeth's Peace Sells, it was almost certainly written like this: All of the music was written first. Then there was an idea of the chorus "peace sells, but who's buyin?" The verses were then added. There isn't a melody as such just each line has to fit the timing well enough.
If you want something that's more of a singalong folk song analyse this:

She's basically just strumming random chords.
im asking willing musicians not trolling contrarians...
Im willing. I've written lots of songs
ok, great. What's the best way for me to get the music or hear it...
I could post it online at any number of sites
