Nice. We've been growing a similar melon the past couple seasons with the Blacktail Mountain. Has done well in the heat and drought and produced into fall. Best wishes for your summer garden this year.
Thanks u2. Maybe only a couple of melon plants this year. We were overrun last year. Cantaloupes were a flop. The pumpkins were good. I have bees on the farm so everything gets pollinated. Also. A good irrigation system. We are a certified organic farm. Potatoes, ginger and turmeric go in the ground tomorrow.
What do you do with the turmeric?
We use it as a spice in cooking. It has great anti inflammatory properties (curcuminoids). It’s hard to source fresh, so we grown our own. It can be dried and made into a powder. I like growing stuff that lasts for years, no waste. It grows like ginger.
