Brazil is dangerous as fuck. You don't want to go there. The real secret is to be remote. You can do that even in New York State. Be well away from the major urban centers, and there's less people around to fuck with you. Neighbors are better armed. Governments don't have the manpower or budgets to adequately patrol these areas, so they have less overall influence. Shit might get crazy for a while, but just dig in and keep a low profile. The main action, whatever it is, will be far from you. Look at Ontario for example. Nearly half the population of Canada lives there, yet half the Province is remote as fuck. Much of it has no roads. There are places in Ontario that no human has walked in, in at least the last 100 years. All kinds of them. The people all live in the South where it's warmer.
