You are absolutely right. I caught myself drinking a beer or a few to fall asleep faster, but it had the opposite effect because I woke up at night to pee and drink. Since I'm not drinking, even my appearance has changed and I have a sharp look back. In some people, the dark rims around the eyes show that their liver is overloaded with alcohol or drugs. Blood pressure often returns to normal after stopping alcohol.
