The moral of the story is about the slippery slope of good intentions leading to great harm, and the danger of ego growing so large it leads to self deification.

"Death Note" anime is not good at all. It's crap. Check out "Ghost Hound."
It's well written. I guess it has strong morals. It certainly looks down on people trying to play God.
