Never seen it before until recently but archive.org is doing the same. Some good books and audiobooks were nuked from there.
The book/audiobook deletion is related to a lawsuit that archive.org lost in 2020.
The lawsuit was about archive.org being able to issue unlimited book/audiobook licenses. They nearly went out if business over it but iirc are still fighting it.

Back up for yourself what you can now. Just like all the other virtual libraries of alexandria, once they are burned, its gone forever.
How can you back it up? I have a few things from there that are good but they make it so hard to download
I had Turner Diaries bookmarked and just checked, it’s gone.
Reminder that the Internet Archive Project is run by (((Brewster Kahle))), whose mugshot on Wikipedia is literally him handrubbing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brewster_Kahle
I've noticed for some sites their 2019-2020 archives are completely inaccessible; even if you try to access a page in that date range it just kicks you back to some time in mid 2018
