How do you reconcile the idea that being "saved" refers to the afterlife with the statement from Jesus "The kingdom of heaven is here and now. The kingdom of heaven is within you?"
How do you reconcile the idea that being "saved" refers to the afterlife with the statement from Jesus "The kingdom of heaven is here and now. The kingdom of heaven is within you?"
That's like trying to read Shakespeare to me. I never could get the hang of it.
I'm not suggesting he said there was no heaven. I'm saying the only thing Jesus had or any of us have is now. The kingdom of heaven doesn't exist in the future, nor in the past. It exists now.
That's my take on it. I don't claim to be a bible scholar, just somebody who's done a lot of reflecting on the nature of existence.
