I consider myself a small-L libertarian in the sense that I don't agree with the Libertarian party enough to join. I'm also for as limited a government as we can get away with, as well as the most speech as possible. Speech that doesn't harm consenting adults is usually where I draw the line.
I'm curious, what would you consider speech that harms an adult?
Revenge porn, comes to mind. Slander and / or libel.
Sure. I hesitate to assume... you're not suggesting that porn doesn't harm consenting adults, are you? The destructive and perverse nature of porn seems self-evident, but maybe I'm just a prude.
I'm not saying that it doesn't harm consenting adults, only that consenting adults should be allowed to harm themselves if they choose to.
I see where you’re coming from, but people who harm themselves usually end up harming those around them as well. No man lives in a vacuum.
Adults can choose to harm themselves. In this context, I would advocate for removing such harmful things from the pool of "sub of the day," but then we risk getting into the merits and content of the sub itself.
