I guess it depends on how passionate I was about the issue. If I cared little then I would probably say something to the effect of "Oh I didn't know that." If I strongly disagreed I would go try to find more evidence to backup my argument.

You are correct I didn't read the article but calling something trash is going to illicit a similar response, you can't go around throwing insults without expecting to get them back. Its like going into a room and yelling fire then wondering why everyone is running for the exits.

What other site admin would even tolerate you calling him an idiot or a bad person? has not only tolerated he has engaged you, if that isn't proof he at least committed to free speech then I have no idea what would convince you short of agreeing with you on every argument you make which would be suppressing his own speech and defeat the purpose of the site.

That would be a normal response from someone with a shred of integrity...

If I strongly disagreed I would go try to find more evidence to backup my argument.

If you're a decent person, you would also acknowledge the mistake.

If you post bullshit, and someone calls it bullshit and insults you. You wear the insult because you posted the bullshit, and you acknowledge that you were wrong. If the other person is reasonable, they will respect you for the acknowledgement of your mistake. If on the other hand, you double down and try to deny what is plain as day, you reveal yourself as a turd with no integrity.

Well I would disagree on that last point but to each their own.
