I had one of my better years in 2019 even after breaking my foot in the middle of the summer. I was even paid $5/hr extra a few months for working during the beginning of the plandemic. I saved a ton of money not going out but hung out with my friends more often at camp or grilling in the backyard. I rolled my sxs in July and broke my foot which required a screw to fix. I could drive since it was my left foot butI wasn't allowed at work until I was able to wear normal shoes so I got a 100% paid 8 weeks off. The money I saved from not going out so much helped carry me through 6 weeks until short term disability check came. I spent a few weeks on a lounge chair in the driveway drinking all day until friends stopped by after work. I only had a boot on so I could ride my buddy's waverunner and swim after the incision healed. I got out of a unhealthy relationship in the spring and started dating the girl I had a couple year crush on in the fall. I still had normal xmas parties and one of my better NYE. I learned that covid doesn't affect me..I had scheduled test a few weeks ago and was covid positive but I never had symptoms. The health department determined I only needed to quarantine for 10 days from test date which was 3 days before they contacted me. My company requires 14 days quarantine so I got 2 weeks emergency pay but only had to isolate 7 days. My downstairs neighbor had to test and came back positive so we both had someone to hang out with the whole time. I'd say the only thing I lost was the marina and golf courses being closed in the spring. I was not able to get my boat in the water for most of stripper season and never ended up golfing. I work until 11pm but everything closes at 10pm so I do miss grabbing a beer after my last shift.
