Easier to forum slide if the community can't downvote. And especially in the case of moderators that micromanage feeds and the potential for 3rd parties that may pay for content to get exposure. Always question intention.
Just stick to the Voat way. Upvote stuff you agree with, downvote stuff you hate. Maybe it's less civilized, but fuckem.
All your votes will be erased if you do that. The issue isn't even that your votes will disappear in itself, its the fact that you might lull yourself into the sense that upvote/downvote ratios are informative of actual community feedback when they aren't. The voat vote system was superior for a number of reasons, but I suspect the poal vote system is better adjusted to forum micromanagement and aggregating target (funded) material to the audience.
Poal gets no funding other than donations. Most of the time I have payed for it out of my own pocket.
