I am neither vegan nor pro abortion, but thats retarded. If non vegans think abortion isnt okay, why do they eat eggs?

[–] 6 pts

Chicken eggs are not fertilized. That's why. They are not abortions.

[–] 4 pts

And vegans dont eat them because eggs are animal product, fertilized or not. its not a gotcha and its not a double standard. Which is why the question doesnt work even if you switch it up...

Another misnomer. The egg itself is not proof of fertilization or not, you fucking dunderhead.

3 proofs of fertilization:

  • Formation of the Egg

  • Distinguishing Both by Candling

  • Distinguishing Both by Breaking Them

  1. A hen can keep laying eggs despite mating with the rooster. A hen can go on laying eggs even if the rooster is not involved. These eggs are unfertilized eggs. This means these eggs will never hatch. But when a rooster mates with a hen, the hen can go on laying fertilized eggs. A fertilized egg has a potential of hatching some day into a chick.

  2. Candling: If an egg appears opaque to you, then it is a fertilized chicken egg.

  3. Break them open: If you observe a white spot or a white ring in the egg yolk, (yellow part) then the egg is fertilized. If you don’t see any white formation in the center of the egg yolk, then it is not a fertilized egg. A fertilized egg can also show tiny red lines running along the surface of the egg yolk. These signs show that the embryo is present in the egg.

Chicken eggs are not fertilized.

This is a common misconception. Chicken eggs do not immediately begin to develop when fertilized. They have to be incubated (heated) to start the development process. Most commercially produced eggs are not fertilized, but a lot of them are. Some egg producers think having roosters around increases egg production, and from my experience I concur. Here at the Sunshine Ranch all of the eggs we eat are fertilized. I have a friend who has even hatched eggs from the supermarket, including Leghorns from large commercial producers. You just need to check to see if they are fertilized before trying to incubate them. There is a little white thing on the yolk. If it looks like a blob or booger, the egg is not fertilized. If it looks like a perfect doughnut, the egg is fertilized.

This explains it fairly well:

That's what that white spot is...huh. Interesting.

I'm not vegan and think they're retarded, but it's because of the living conditions of the chickens. If women lived in captivity for the sole reason of providing abortions, they'd probably be against that too.

We're allowed to have double standards, its how you win.

[–] 0 pt

You win by ignoring and not engaging the left, they dont care for logical or reasonable arguments, let alone the retarded ones that dont make sense even to your own side. Its like having a debate with a libtard and instead of picking jared taylor or nick fuentes, you pick a flat earther to be your representative because he too has unconventional beliefs. The left will not acknowledge either of them but at least you dont make a fool of yourself to your own side and to the potential allies who are still deciding.

You don't argue with the left to win, you argue with the left to win the centrist in the audience to our side

To actual win against a leftist you hire a bulldozer and drive through their house at 2am

Because it's not the same thing, you bigot!

Youre touching on something I have also noticed. If I may, some refining for your argument- narrow your argument to meat, something that requires an animal life to end. And ask if they are choosing their diet for health or ethical reasons. If ethical they will be forced to admit their hypocrisy of valuing chickens/cows/etc while being callous about human life.

If you're against abortion why do you eat eggs?

Chicken Eggs are actually Chicken Periods, not aborted chicks

Vegans don't even eat honey, why would you think they would eat eggs?

[–] [deleted] 0 pt (edited )

Not a vegan. I eat the eggs, the hens and the rooster (after he attacked me from behind). I believe abortion is wrong but also in free will. Not interested in having government dictating individual actions. However, selling the flesh of humans is abhorrent and should be severely punished IMO.

To be fair, they don't eat the aborted babies either. They pay taxes to have that fetal tissue mixed into a vaccine that they'll take later. Big difference.

[–] 0 pt

cause it's only OK with them to kill human babies

[–] 0 pt

Because eggs are an animal product and vegans don't eat animal products. They are not abortions or miscarriages they are periods.

[–] 0 pt

90% of chicken eggs you buy are fertilized as a rooster increases egg production. So no it's not an unfertilized egg (period)

[–] 0 pt

Increased production and being fertilised are not the same. Fertilised eggs are obvious (to me) and I don't eat them. Never seen fertilised eggs in store bought packets, I assume if they do have roosters as you say they also have a machine do a candling on them before being sent out. Also 90% of eggs i eat these days come from hens (currently) without a rooster (I have personally seen them) so they are 100% periods and I don't need to candle them.

Trying to find logic in progressive's decisions and views is a losing game friend.
