parents = boomers
didn't believe in corporal punishment
started out "go to your room" (lol, ok, I have plenty to do in there!)
figured that out, the new and by far WORST thing imaginable = SITTING ON THE STAIRS for HOURS, bored out of your mind, nothing to read, hear, do, see. HOURS of my life spent on staircases

my brother had to dig a hole once. One time all three of us had to stand against the wall silent until someone fessed up to something, that took a while. really my parents didn't dool out too many punishments. we were given time outs when we were younger, standing in a corner with your nose touching the wall and there was the rare spanking.
my dad is at the end of the boomers and my mom would be the next generation,
