I keep opening pages out of bordem or randomly and keep typing voat.co before remembering it's dead. Nothing against being here, just has been happening a lot the last few weeks. So much so that I catch myself halfway through and have to remind myself it's dead.

Its unfortunate that a lot of folks lost a good deal of their conversations. The thing is though, as long as you said it, it has a chance to live on. I had a lot of good contributions over my time there and miss that. However, we still have the means to express ourselves in our current state. Keep your head up and keep on keeping on.

There has been several times I auto fill and enter before realizing what I've done. Like I said though, nothing against being here. Glad there is a place to voice ourselves regardless where it is or what that message might be.

Voat was a quasi-FBI honeypot where agents logged on as users and obtained information as well as put out suggestions ( some could call instructions) trying to get posters to act out physically in their towns/cities.

This place is a knock off, RUN by the FBI. Nothing about it doesn't let you know it's 100% a honeypot for them.

My guess is that when reddit turned away people who wouldn't comply with "right speach" VOAT ..being a semi similiar construct /base / platform...that allowed for free speech became a haven for "radicals" (those who think) , which always bring in the glowies.

The FBI likely then tried to force their way in (hack) and when that didn't work they tried to take it over ..but Puttiout was wise enough to their methods that he could (and did) eliminate the backdoors and shut down their accounts / IP's.

The next likely step was that the FBI simply took physical control over their servers and probably held Putt in detention. (all the while bringing up bullshit "regulations" and "legality" lawsuits against him in order to make it financially impossible to keep the site running.

Knowing that Putt then wouldn't keep quiet and murdering a site owner (one only known for free speech) might send normies to wake up and demand FBI accountability, they are probably simply offered up a NDA deal. He doesn't put up another site or post online about the events of what happened. In agreement he probably got a little check and a pat on the head ...along with the return of his "freedom".

Nothing you do here is going unnoticed. Nothing.

I'm not sure Voat was any more special than here or 4 chan or any other obscure message board with regards to the alphabet agencies. I believe they're on all the mentioned sites and probably more. Unlike Voat, 4chan actually has some IRL events that have been linked back to them over the years. I feel like here and Voat they were probably on an "observe and report" status.

A lot of people have mentioned book marks. I typically just use my phone to browse and just typed v into the search bar and let auto fill do the rest.
