I think I might have spoke/chatted to the voat guy some yrs back, maybe again some months back before the voat site turned into a total shill shit show. As I understood it he was an ex moslem atheist maybe an apostate of islam maybe from Bosnia or Kosovo someplace and maybe in the heart of Europe working, studying, traveling around Switzerland. The Verge described the site as "Imzy's dark twin", in that both were indirect products of the Gamergate culture war, a hobby project of Atif Colo aka Atko. The voat site used to be small but would exploded in numbers after every reddit ban. I have no real idea about the new guy who took over, Justin Chastain also known as PuttItOut even less on saidit but I do know sites like reddit are cancer which is why I'm hanging out here. Saidit seems to have some of those ice-poseidon /r/braincels soapbox and incel guys, more so than poal, saidit seems to have been looking the way of Ceddit.com, Notabug.io to stop them getting taken down? Voat with its controversy attracted a lot of people, it gets gold for being the biggest after reddit but its wonky and crashes, saidit i guess gets silver with maybe poal competing for silver or getting the bronze. Saidit doesnt seem that reliable on n June 2019, SaidIt was down for many hours after experiencing a DDoS attack.
