That's until the end of July, state + the CARES act payments. After that it's about $2000 a month until the end of the year, assuming I can't find any employment.
In the UK Unemployment pays less than disability which pays less than working.
Typically, that's here as well. For example, the state I'm in caps your unemployment payments at ~$500 max per week, assuming you made enough working to receive that amount.
The federal government kicked in an extra $600 a week for several months, so I'm making more sitting at home looking for a new job than I made working a job. That extra payment ends at the end of July, so those of us still off will be getting about $2000 a month for a 4-week month. For most, that's going to suck, but I was a frugal little bird and didn't get myself into debt. The alarmists are already predicting a massive downturn come August, when people start being unable to pay all those bills they racked up over the years.
