Basically anything heavy and cast iron to put on bacon to keep flat and cook both sides.

I think this is something I need in my life

It's useful if you have a flat grittle or one that fits in your cast iron skillet. You can use a press with any thin cut of meat that have a tendency to curl up as you cook.
