This has nothing to do with Picasso and everything to do with consumers ... basically people like you.

The guy was so talented at 14 that he could paint masterpieces and no one wanted to pay for that. Why? Because in his day EVERYONE (all the other skilled painters) could paint realistic portraits. There was no 'hook' that he could use to get anyone to pay for a HUGE AMOUNT OF WORK, there is no way to stand out when all other painters can paint like you and really no one really buys art to begin with.

So: if you are a fucking genius at the age of 14 and can match the masters but you cannot get any of the retarded public to pay you? Well, you give the retarded public what they want. First you segment the demo and you segment your self into money. Poor people are fucking retarded, rich people are not smart but they are are a softer target with lots of disposable income kind of falling out of their pockets. Next, you segment your art work into something unique, catchy and arresting. For someone that was a master painter at 14, he had not only the technique and know how to make anything, he had the technique and know how on how to decompose his work into its component parts and recombine them in ways that were arresting and interesting to JUST THE RIGHT MARKET SEGMENT: the rich and the intellectuals. Next, you brand your self, so you do everything Picasso did, from getting into the right galleries, getting to know the right intellectuals and art critics and fooling them with bullshit (intellectuals are just fucking retards with degrees) and the reason you do this is to have them jumpstart your marketing with social proof. At first you start to sell a few things, then you sell a few more for a few more dollars, then people that originally bought your shit for nothing start to sell your shit for huge sums and then you sell a whole ton of work for a whole lot of money. And, at the end, the rich and their intellectual pets get to pretend they have a clue and Picasso gets to live a life of luxury and hedonism as the French are wont to do.

This works everywhere, at all strata of human society. Just look at the average iq level of the comments in this thread. Not a single person seems to even know the history of Picasso, never mind the skills and genius needed to be a master by the age of 14, let alone figure out how to market your trinkets and make millions retiring on the Côte d'Azur.

If you are ever wondering why our side keeps on losing, just read the comments on this thread.

If you don't know why you are always losing or what any of the above means, start a business and grow it. You will soon discover that the average consumer is infuriatingly retarded and the cause of all the bad decisions made in the market place.

Everything sucks because that is all that you are willing to pay for.

Pablo Picasso was Spanish, NOT French.

You are correct. I stand corrected.
