My water is liquid rock. My tank is most likly 7.5ph atm. I dont want to use RO water because once you start playing with the water you can never go back.
A lot of S American species will do just fine in hard water, some wont.
I use a lot of driftwood, and plant matter, bark. My tank water is the color of tea.
More natural for the fish and lowers ph.

Ya, most of the muddy river types are ok in hard, but still like to breed in softer water. I use Ironwood and Cholla skeletons for my tea brew these days. These fellas love it.
