Nice! The pinks and reds were always rare in northern latitudes before the earth's field began to diminish, we mostly saw greens.
Really? Growing up on the central coast of California the sunsets were straight up neon pink and orange. Technicolored clouds. It's beautiful. With a purple sky.
E: I've also seen green flashes of the setting sun on the horizon over the ocean. First time was when I was a teen smoking weed with my girlfriend on the dunes. Didn't know it was a thing before that. It was a trip.

Sunsets are caused by Rayliegh Scattering (en.m.wikipedia.org).
Arora Borealis is caused by the interaction of charged particles from the sun with atoms in the upper atmosphere. The light seen are from excited atoms. A totally different beast.
