You ever negotiate any big boy business deals?
You ever negotiate any big boy business deals?
Not by hopping in some nog's SUV I don't.
This potential client really likes me, we have been working real well together, I caught a few errors in her work that definitely saved her from a few mishaps, I provided her with "the fasted quote I have ever received on such a complex project in my 28 years of doing this". Overall, good shit so far.
She is a procurement manager, and I know she is talking to two other companies about this project. I provided her with my quote mid December, I know she will be recieving their quotes this week.
But she is concerned that what I am providing her with is made by Chinaman in China. I've explained to her that these are top chinks, very primo. Eyes not too slanty, very smart, good social credit score on these chinks. She says she believes me on the chinks, she is more concerned about supply chain disruption of getting the (x) shipped from China to USA. Her company got nice and fucked up when this happened during covid.
And honestly, her concerns are valid. I know the two competitors in this are American companies. I've done what I can to mitigate her risk by agreeing to stock finished (x) over here for delivery to her company, but she is right, and I told her she is right.
But how do I get her to ignore that and choose me over our American competition?
Theo needs this business. This one deal would net me enough to actually change my life. I haven't lied to her, and I won't, the risks are real but we have agreed to do a lot to mitigate them. How do I get her to choose me?
Tough spot. Because I would also like to see most work go to Americans. Maybe you could explain that Covid is projected to never again cause global shut-downs. Try to find data on that.
I don't have any answers for you, Theo. Sorry, man.
