Yeah, I got raised to have that mindset and I constantly cannot understand the other end of the spectrum. My parents always would point out neighbors who have everything. Pool, four cars, side by side ATV's, Snowmobiles, nice tractor, new addition every year to the house. They would explain the consequences of that type of behavior, LIVING ABOVE YOUR MEANS. Debt is bad, if you are in debt you don't own it. Same thing with small purchases..... How many hours did you have to work to buy that.. Is it worth it. etc etc. I feel blessed by their upbringing, It has saved me from being a debt slave for life.
