I hope his family is doing okay or as well as they can be considering the situation. I'm sure it isn't easy losing a guy like that. I know he was a lot of things to a lot of people.

I only knew the guy from his time here. I enjoyed talking too him almost everyday. I'd wake up grab my coffee and there he would be on chat saying good morning and we'd exchange a few words back and forth. It was almost a ritual for me. I'll miss the guy.

Edit: For a while we have a custom Poal Logo in honor of @Owlchemy, and the slogans are all @Owlchemy quotes for a while, we will also be doing a special episode of the podcast tonight as he was one of our first listeners and certainly the one that gave me the most feedback.

Hello,

This is the baby bird again. I can't begin to express how much your words mean to me. I logged in last night not really knowing what to expect. He always talked about his time online and how he had some great friendships and shot the shit with a lot of people. That was who he was - he never took life too seriously, but he was growing tired.

He always taught us that no matter what happens, life keeps moving and it's up to us to keep moving along with it. No matter what, we'll always land on our feet. Sometimes we'll break our legs falling, but that heals. We had our ups and downs as all families do, but so much of who I am is because of him. His humor, love of music and appreciation of life's little adventures has been passed down faithfully.

When we were trying to find documents on his computer, we found one simple musing that may bring you all comfort. It certainly did for my sister and I. These are his words:

"I do not fear death. Death is merely venturing into the unknown. Something I have done day to day throughout my entire life and something I have never feared"

His favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas because it meant sharing a nice big meal with the people he loved the most.

There is so much I want to say, but words are failing me. I am so glad he had such a great community that cared about him. For that, thank you.

Let me start by saying, thank you so much for letting us know. We have all been wondering and worrying about him. Its not the news I personally wanted. I'm sure you can relate however I am glad to know what happened.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you coming here and sharing those words with us.

I'll remember the conversations we had fondly and we are going to do a bit more of a memorial for him here. I'm not sure exactly what it will look like yet but I know I want to do something more.

Maybe add an owl flying behind the bear?

Thank you so much for replying. It does provide us with some comfort you and the family are aware of his impact. In the midst of the sorrow, remember he was well thought of by many. May God bring you all peace.

He was always posting batches of stuff, a good chunk interesting to read through, and had nice things to say to anyone who listened. I will miss his contributions.

Rest in peace Owlchemy, i'm sorry for your loss baby bird.

I didn't know Owlchemy too well but all my interactions with him was very positive and supportive, overall imo he was a very genuine honest person. I knew he loved astronomy, as do I.

I never really talked with him much on voat, but i enjoyed his content as well as on here.

Dealing with death is never easy, I hope you are staying strong in remembrance.

Much love, take care. Thanks for letting us know. I'm sure it was hard to do.
