I'm not sure how he died. He hides in his house most of the winter with his Heat and UV lamp. He was out milling around in the rain a couple of weeks ago munching on grass and some early dandelions that I found in the yard.
I haven't seen him since and thought I would check in on him today. He was parked in his house as usual but I thought that was weird because he usually comes out to roam around when it's warm out. But no, he was gone from us.
He was quite the character. Surprisingly fast when wandering the yard. He once escaped for a few weeks but we found him in the barn, more like he found us actually. He responded to his name and would come say hello and get a head rubbing.
I'll miss that little guy. I hatched him about 6 years ago, he was the size of a quarter when he came into the world. Cute as a button.
