This is the new “advanced flow” Google [promised](https://poal.co/s/Android/785821) to allow installing apps from outside of its official app store. It seems ridiculous (especially the 24 hour wait) if you don’t live in a corrupt, non‐White country where scammers are rampant. Forcing scammers to wait 24 hours while their victim’s phone allows unlocking gives the victim time to think, and to call legitimate people like their bank, or the person who was supposedly kidnapped. I hate being treated like an idiot, but this is a one time process and it will stop a lot of people from installing some malware that steals everything from them.
