I am getting a notification sound every few minutes. There is no notification icon displayed in the notification area and after turning on notification history there is no entry. Any ideas how to figure this out?

I am getting a notification sound every few minutes. There is no notification icon displayed in the notification area and after turning on notification history there is no entry. Any ideas how to figure this out?

NSA (and a hacker) technique called "Dipping" where they scan and "dip a signal" into the cell system to detect open cell phones (i.e. unsecured systems). Surveillance or hacking follows usually.
