Unless you think there are good odds of you being dead by the end of the month, more effort to growing liberty rather than security is more beneficial use of your time and social leverage. You have security to spare. You never have liberty to spare because you often can't sacrifice your liberty without sacrificing someone else's, especially if it is a policy matter. That's just not right. At the end of the day if another needs more security they can expend some of their freedom (of time) and money (gained in freedom) to increasing their security themselves. Let them make the call. This is money's real purpose. To manage risk. When you sacrifice's another's freedom hoping only to exchange your own freedom with the government, your fellow man who is forced into the same exchange doesn't get to make that exchange backwards without the abuse of the state coming upon them. Then what is his security? Exchanging your freedom for security comes from the selfish mind of someone convinced to be scared.
