That's awesome! Too bad he had a stroke. I'd love to have heard his thoughts on the race from his seasoned perspective. I figured he had a future career at Chevrolet ... band life can be hard.
Yeah, I had to look him up to see if he wound up in some sort of high end engineering position for an auto maker. I was kinda surprised by his career choice. Obviously strong in both right and left brain. Poor guy, he didn’t look comfortable with all that attention he was getting in his post stroke state. I can relate. The crippling effects rheumatoid arthritis has had on me makes me uncomfortable in public or encounters with friends and family. I’ve a neighbor who recently had a stroke and has lost his speech. I can’t imagine being stuck in your own head like that and not able to communicate so suddenly and possibly permanently.
Let me take this moment to count my blessings. No stroke, no debilitating arthritis, no known issues yet. I know something bad will take me out eventually, but age hasn't treated me badly yet. Sorry to hear of your rheumatoid arthritis, I have a sense of your joy in getting out and exploring the wonders of the world.
