Well, apparently the pilot just decided "fuck this, I'm out. Good Luck!".

You didn't read the whole article did you...?

"The six others on board were all skydivers and were all able to jump clear of the Cessna before it struck the ground.

The pilot was the last once to leave the doomed plane. "

Well, I skimmed it. Guess I over-did that one. Looks like a best case situation then afterall.
