Yes Angola was a cold war proxy, only difference was we had no backing from the west. Soviet arms against us in combat were no threat compared to political pressure, sanctions and subversion. I'm kind of over that 'rooi gevaar' thing with the Ruskis though and hope they go full 1488 along with their eastern europe counterparts.
