Cleaning glasses

Water, preferably hot, soap and a cotton cloth to dab dry is all you need. Alcohol based sprays and microfiber cloths WILL cause scratches. Add-on "anti-scratch" coating is a gimmick.

If someone told me that when I was a little'n then I'd be be several thousands of dollars richer today. One year on with the same lenses and not a single scratch.

Never use hot water, it will fuck up the coatings, one of those ultrasonic things are best

Don't waste your money on coatings and hot water isn't an issue.

Never threw a pair into an ultrasonic cleaner before.

Yeah but most people opt for the coatings and hot water fucks them up. Ultrasonic for small jewelry and glasses are only about $30 now. Cleans all the crap around edges of lenses and nose pieces.
