I didn’t. Sucks. Don’t be me. Go to the motherfucking dentist. Broken molar I neglected got infected. Most pain I’ve ever been in in my life. Beyond words. Would have rather had my arm sawn off, it hurt so fucking bad. Literally blinding pain and could barely walk. Dentist sent me to the ER. “In 36 years doing this, I’ve never seen anyone in so much pain.” Never use painkillers, high threshold and tough it the fuck out mentality, but this shit had me crippled. No insurance. Fun. Get jacked up on antibiotics, it finally cleared, now all my gut bacteria is dead and I shit liquids. Also fun. I fucking hate the dentist too, but don’t be like me. TAKE CARE OF YOUR FUCKING SELF. No one else will.

Yeah, I did the same thing.

Partly it's my mother's fault because she said, "well, you didn't want to go to the dentist" so I probably saw a dentist a total of 5 times as a kid. I wonder what kid did want to go?

That set me up for bad habits later in life. I didn't floss worth a fuck and wait 5 years between dental appointments.

So I've had 2 root canals and I've got a couple missing back teeth that I need to get implants for at some point.

For the last couple years I've had invisaligns, my dentist said it would help to fix my bite. During that time I've learned to brush and floss religiously. Flossing takes no time at all with those handles they make now.

Fortunately, my body is built like a tank, never really been to the hospital.

Find yourself a good dentist, mine does the best root canals. It's scary as hell but it doesn't hurt. No anesthesia. You don't need anesthesia, just need someone who can numb the area properly.

A lot of it depends on genetics. As a kid, I was never forced to brush. Forget about flossing -- flossing? What's that? I ate a lot of candy, never really thought about my teeth. In my early twenties I decided I'd better go to a dentist to get my teeth checked out. Lots of cavities, but no bad teeth. Dentist filled the cavities, I never lost a tooth. But I started brushing regularly and flossing occasionally. I'm getting up there in years, and so far I've only lost one tooth. It wasn't anything I did to protect them, believe me -- I just happen to have really good, strong teeth. It's genetic.

Get a water flosser. It works better than floss and you'll do it everyday

I've got one that attaches to the shower head so I can do it when I shower.

Genetics play a huge part in it yep. It's also a good indicator of other problems. People with shell teeth (very thin and shine like the inside of a shell) generally have low bone density. People who have teeth break a lot or just snap often have some other genetic disorder like arthritis or some kind of constant inflammation too. It's always been interesting to me how different parts of the body are related like this.

That's true, never had much luck in that department but not brushing and flossing is retarded.

You probably didn't need to lose any teeth.
