Fuck you, Waterfox is amazing. Brave was literally started by a genius who invented Javascript and crated/ran Firefox until he got ousted by SJWs for being a Christian. SearX pulls its data from Google, so while anonymous: it's equally useless. Want to see actually relevant, uncensored results? Yandex. The Russians have a good search engine which almost reminds me of back when Google was actually useful.

Also: no mention of Diaspora as a replacement for facebook.

Diaspora kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth as a name. Like the jewish diaspora. Kinda like how gab.ai = gabbai which is some hebrew thing. Are the kikes unable to touch something if we name it after something of theirs?

Care to update the meme then?

What makes you dislike Brave?

Start using Mastodon

LOL

Mastodon is a network built with censorship in mind. Eugen Rochko, the creator, keeps a blocklist of many sites he doesn't like "for reasons," as I was told when remarking it was damn near impossible to see some conversations because of these blocks. Many others subscribe to these blocklists. The Mastodon network's coders and people in high places are known to be assholes and say things like "I'm under no obligation to allow you to follow me" when questioned about an issue with the code.

TL;DR: Mastodon is pozzed by design. Use Pleroma, the other federated system instead. https://shitposter.club/

Yeah, I just gave it a shot - it sucks. Mastodon gets fucked in the ass and likes it.

The Pleroma network is a lot smaller, people-wise, than twitter, so if you're expecting a lot of unique eyeballs you may find that isn't the case.

I generally have found there's a set of posters you'll always interact with and a few new ones every now and then. The federated nature sometimes works against the system, it can be hard to find voices of interest because your site may not have the reach that allows you to find those voices.

I'd love to use Ungoogled Chromium, but it's WAY too much of a pain in the ass to have to redownload a browser every time there's an update. Give me a PPA, or I keep using Brave

I agree, so I turn auto updates off (on all my apps). Then when the app no longer functions correctly, I decide if I want to update it. Same with my OS. I turned updates off. It's extremely annoying that it forces updates constantly and always when I'm interacting with it.

I don't mind updating on my desktop (mobile is a WHOLE other story), but as I said, redownloading every patch is NOT intuitive. I admit I'm lazy, but you know what? My home box is my comfy place. I use mint cause it's easy. I like Ubuntu cause PPAs handle downloads and updating. I play on steam and proton cause it works good. I use Brave cause it's not Chrome but works great. I'm TOTALLY open for new tech. But I'm not gonna spend my precious free time tinkering with bullshit on my daily driver.

The list is interesting. Typically I search for "chrome alternative" and generally get a reasonably curated list of alternatives.

"end centralization" USE GOOGLE!

Peertube looks like it's infested with people promoting pedophilia. True free speech I suppose but when the people who are trying to take away free speech overlap an awful lot with pedophiles, maybe not the best look.

You're an idiot. Use bitcoin? Bahahaha. That is the WORST crypto on earth to use as currency. Slow transaction times and exorbitant fees. Most of your "ignores" are better than your supported options.
