That never crosses most peoples minds.
They oppose the idea of slavery but refuse to admit the only way to truly reject it is through the freedom of letting people walk away from the bonds and associations and choosing which work best for them and what they believe in. They can't be forced into an eternal servitude unless they choose so without force.
There's more to that and a better way to say it, but I just don't have the words for it now.
