This is fascinating. If done well, it's like being able to travel back in time and ask a contemporary literature and news reading person what's up. Just keep in mind that the news wasn't trustworthy even back then.
Well, the odd thing is that it didn't do well, it told me exactly what I shouldn't look up.

Apparently all the Christians and Muslims were united in rioting against the Jews in Damascus after the incident, but the Wikipedia article keeps mentioning how they were all antisemites and you shouldn't read further, Goyim.
