Were there any non-chinese who worked on this?
Good question. The researchers were all Chinese but the resumes were written by a mix of real job candidates.
The researchers devised a resume submission experiment involving a dataset of 2,245 human-written resumes…
They didn’t write 2,245 resumes themselves.
I was wondering if they compared broken English resumes they wrote themselves to AI cleaned up versions.
I believe this, because I was on a particularly frustrating job search once, then updated my resume using AI, and got hired right away.
Keyword filtering resumes is an old practice. This is just the latest method of automating that task.
In fairness to employers, any job posting today—especially IT—gets immediately flooded with pajeet resumes (most likely fake). Many have learned that the pajeets lie, but they don’t want to be racist and toss them all out.
I wonder if the AI tools are an indirect way of tossing out the pajeets while letting you lie to yourself about being unbiased?
