Is it really that bad in the U.S.?
I wouldn't know. I have never used Airbnb and likely never will because I do not like the potential for fuckery from the company and property owners. I'll stick with well known hotels since they've never really screwed me over, yet.

We prefer to use airbnb or guest houses (more quiet locations), away from kindergarten-like hotels filled with large Asian families with very loud and annoying kids.
