That sounds fing miserable. Also, wtf. They had games that the kids could play that you had to pay for? What fucking MBA thought that up and didn't realize it would royally piss off anyone actually getting charged for little Timmy playing "pop the balloon" for 30 minutes?
I stopped eating there so long ago that I don't remember when. My family would still want to go there for B-days and such but I would just get a water and hang out. They all seemed to hate me for it even though I just told them I couldn't eat it or I would feel sick for a day or two (not a lie, that's what happens when you stop eating places like that for a few years).
Oh, they were miserable alright. If there was more than one kid, they'd fight over it. I actually had people, before they sat down, tell the host(ess) to take the tablet away.
They were assigned by table number, so whever it was, I had to use it since at the beginning, they forced us to use it for eveything, instead of the regular computer.
I don't remember exactly how it worked for guests, if you could play a little then have to pay, or if they just paid up front. It was like $3 for unlimited play.
I do remember there was a way to put it in demo mode and that's what we'd do on break is eat and play the games.
I never ate there before, rarely while I worked there (talk about 'slop'), and haven't set foot in one since I left. Good riddance to bad rubbish!
The IHOPs in the surrounding area are gone, and I thought they were better, used to go there once in a while, but there's still a few Applebees around. I can't believe they're still in business.
