I never ask AI to tell me how something works, or what a particular law, rule or regulation is. All I use it for is basically a search engine and ask it to point me to the exact spot from a reputable site where the information is contained. Everytime I have tried to ask it something technical, it gave me a stupid answer that was clearly wrong to anyone who knows a bit about the subject.

That’s the trick with LLMs. You have to figure out what they’re actually good for. They can be decent tools, but never employee replacements.
