Imagine going through 10 to 15 years of school and residency while pilling up 100s of thousands of dollars in debt, to be replaced by an AI.

Would that be more or less insulting than being replaced by a diversity hire?

The result is the same, in that sense it doesn't matter, but I'd think AI would better than replacement by diversity. At least AI can be viewed as the onward march of technological innovation. There is nothing beneficial for society with diversity hires.
