Kaplan attributed these errors to a phenomenon known in the AI industry as “hallucinations.” This term refers to instances where AI systems generate false or inaccurate information, often with a high degree of confidence.

Everything these “AIs” spit out is a hallucination. “Hallucinating” is the best description of what they do when they generate content. They’re only accurate by coincidence.
