I don't know what hatchbox is but I will look it up. I use this brand because it comes on reusable spools so I can just buy reloads when I need it and also it is RFID chipped so I just put it in there and it auto loads and the machine knows exactly what it is, material and color wise. Streamlines the process. I never have to configure anything.
I got into the whole keeping the filament dry routine right off the bat since I am going to be moving to TX where it is very humid. The AMS unit has Desiccant pods internally and I also made more that fit into the empty spaces in the unit. I also print out spool cores that hold more desiccant and the AMS unit is nearly airtight so the humidity level stays very low in there. I have hygrometers inside and outside the AMS unit to monitor the humidity level. Outside the unit right now is 41% and inside is 20%.
When I am storing the spools I use the vacuum bags you're talking about and I have the spool cores full of desiccant in them.
Nice, sounds like you have it all sorted already then =) Should start some monthly posts of "Shit you should already know but might not". Maybe ill try to do that too.
The bambu ams does the rfid to assign profiles for the various filament, then tracks the amounts used to tell you costs and so forth.
