The northwest is a stupid area to start with. Really you need to do this around the great lakes area. All that trash water and farmable land

We need access to the ports/coast to ship and export materials if need be. Being landlocked is a stupid idea man. You would need to use military force and maintain military force to punch through enemy territory. The northwest has wilderness that we need to fight. Also it is not as cold as the midwest in general and fuel will be very costly to obtain. However, if you believe so strongly in the great lakes then organize there.
