Sorry dude but its way worst then you think. I lost two cousins and a dog last months because of wolves. My BFF mom was also attacked. They are everywhere since covid prevent us from hunting. Don't come to Canada unless you stay inside big cities or you will be eating alive by packs of wolves.
I do not leave my dogs out with the wolves, I also do not show hostility towards the wolves.
Our units are not having any troubles with the increased populations. The cullings have created a general increase in wolf hostility for those that show hostile disrespect, if they do not like you, you may never be able to earn their respect.
That said anything that appears to act as a herd will be stalked, the wolves see the movement outside of establish territories as open game. Troops should maintain large and tight groupings. If they do not have the large well disciplined numbers they should not be heading north.
What worries me is that Americans can be skittish and frightened combined with arrogance which makes for a dangerous combination. When they encounter a Canadian moose, if they piss it off, they will be humbled real fast! They have delusions about Canada. If they follow their bible as a guide up here, even if they have 500 men and 100k rounds, they will all be dead 5 days. They will have to learn Pagan European culture very quickly. The rules of nature are not negotiable!
I was raised in the BC forests and mountains, they were raise in cities or no more than a ten minute walk from the nearest town. For us, it hours driving between cities and towns. Americans nor modern Europeans understand such isolation. But I can not see there being any route they could move north such as Alberta where there is wall to wall roads that will not be patrolled by Chinese or some other enemy forces, not to mention being wide open and highly visible.
They certainly wont be able to go to the cities during war. The dead bodies will attract far more wolves to the cities.
I am American and among those who would never make it up north. Not only do I have very limited knowledge of survival skills, I am weak as hell when it comes to cold, carrying a jug of milk makes the bones in my hands hurt. Interesting enough, if I supplement with iodine that problem goes away.
I have been trying to learn as fast as possible the things that will help me in the southern US, but I am left with an extreme sense that no matter what I learn it would never be enough. Trying to keep a household together and a homestead has been interesting and full of learning misadventures. I have been trying to figure out how I would feed my livestock if things did come to what I think they will. Other than walking with my goats to over grown pastures and keeping armed watch over them the entire day, I don't see it happening. Feeding the chickens will be easier with the kind of property we have.
Anyway, at this point my faith is in God to lead me where we need to go. My husband has a lot of experience in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Egypt and that will be valuable. My youngest child is five and eldest is 13, so luckily we can be mobile if necessary. I am hoping since we are over an hour away from any city we won't have to worry about nuclear fall out. I have things like spirulina and chlorella on hand, and iodine.
I confess that I feel very overwhelmed when trying to think about the future hypotheticals.
You will be best then to keep trying to defend your farm. You may have to improvise when war comes, you will need to be out of sight and out of mind of passing military or death squads.
