The company’s metaverse pivot to the enterprise market makes sense
Sure, you're going to get a ton of people to spend thousands of dollars so they can cover their head with an obtrusive electronic device that tethers them to their PC. This will work out about as well as getting people to buy an expensive flat screen TV and making them wear 3D glasses in order to improve their TV.
I think Zoom got it right: no external hardware, nothing to wear or buy. It just works.
It amazes me how quickly Zoom took over, especially considering they're a Chinese company at heart. I've dealt with retail companies that will piss their pants at the thought of selling a banal consumer object to a company in China, but will happily use Zoom like it's crack.
