This is pretty smart on their behalf. Trump is either found guilty or the trial is a sham and gets appealed, further bringing down Trump. But I think they are assuming people are going to take their side in this and not view it as an elaborate scam to defeat a political opponent before voting starts.

They rule it before, what happens? They rule it after the election where Biden finds 280 million unsigned ballots overnight and Trump "loses " becuase he was found guilty, what happens?
