I would image that battery tech is what's holding it back. No way that thing runs more than an hour or two without a lengthy recharge.
Scaling up will also be difficult due to ground pressure. Same problem tanks have had for years but it's worse here because there's way less ground contact. You make em too big and heavy for x reason the damn thing just sinks into the ground, tears up streets and bridges etc.
