I think he's right about natural gas burners/stoves in the house. Those things put out all sorts of contaminants and waste a lot of heat. Natural gas central heating, hard to be against that. I had electric in an apartment once and it took so long to heat up. I don't think natural gas is very efficient with a water heat, though, and you can't as easily put it on a timer for when you take how showers.
