I guess the Onion grabbler video is coming down.

There's a channel now using a fake warren buffet telling oldsters to sell everything and get ready for the end of the world and shit. jewtube might go after tiny new content creators but that might be it

The irony of Google—rolling out AI tools to create fake videos while simultaneously deploying systems to detect and remove deepfakes— the irony is not lost. It feels like a self-inflicted paradox. It’s a feedback loop where the same company builds both the engine and the brakes, fueling a cycle of content creation and moderation that consumes enormous amounts of compute and energy. The result? A huge, compute-hungry Rube Goldberg machine that grows more complex with every attempt to control it.

While the industry races to build out this loop, others are quietly optimizing. Some systems now serve pages at under 0.01 grams of CO₂ each—not as a sustainability badge, but as a proxy for engineering efficiency. These designs prioritize lean infrastructure, smart resource allocation, and minimal waste. As energy demands skyrocket and data centers expand, the contrast becomes sharper: what was once top-tier efficiency now stands in the top 0.01%, simply because the rest of the field is accelerating in the opposite direction.

This isn’t just ironic—it’s unsustainable. Think of it as the broken window fallacy. Don’t forget, the more the industry tries to automate moderation to police AI-generated content, the more infrastructure they build to support both sides of the equation, this additional energy use costs us more as utilities must build out to fuel this shit. It’s a doom-loop of compute, oversight, and expansion, all chasing problems born from the tools themselves. The absurdity isn’t just in the contradiction—it’s in the scale of resources we’re burning to keep the machine running.

The desktop kiketube rolled in the new dogshit player design that the mobile users were already shitting on in unison, for fucks sake. I hate jeets so much.
